Batteries and Storage

Forgive the "foretravel newbie" question......I have a '94 U-280.

What process/procedure would you recommend when I need to store the coach for an extended period of time to keep the batteries charged and ready for use?  The coach will/can be plugged into shore power during the time it's stored.  It will be stored 2-3 weeks every other month.
- Do you recommend turning off the master switch by the door entry?
- Should the battery boost be engaged during storage?
- The previous owner of the coach did not the house batteries strapped to the chassis (starter) batteries, I have made this correction.

Last question - where was the inverter installed when the coach rolled off the assembly line.  The previous owner installed a newer inverter in a very inconvenient location.

Welcome to the ForeForum.

Whether to leave it plugged in 24/7 really depends on the converter or inverter/charger you have.  If a "smart one", leave the coach plugged in all the time it is in storage. So, let us know what you have.

And inverter or inverter charger is best located very near, but no in the same compartment with the house battery bank.

On my 280 the original location of the inverter is directly inside and to the right of the small compartement door aft of the entry door. And still is. You should also find the auxiliary air pump there.

Thank you for the information, the original auxialliary air pump is in place and is an ideal location for the inverter.

If you have a 36 foot, it will be inside and to the right when you open the compartment door to the rear of the entry. So, under the entry stairs.
