Roof Maintenance

My roof appears to be in good shape.
When I go up there it looks like white flat paint.  Its smooth as silk.
I'm in Florida till the end of March and the temps are in the low 80's and up north they are generally in the 80's during the summer.
Currently I have nor port cover.
What can I do to preserve my roof.

Thanks

Flat white reflects the sun better than any other color including shiny white or silver. I included them as some feel these are good reflectors.

Keep the roof clean, reseal any areas they look sketchy, especially in the dreaded Dicor as any cracks in it may allow water to travel.

You could clean the roof and then apply a UV protectant. Ours had a huge amount of cracked Dicor so I stripped it and repainted the whole thing.

One of our clever Forum members (sorry- don't recall who it was) found the original site archived on the WayBackMachine.

Sorry, Rudy, but I don't understand your question.  When I go to that link, I see the exact same opening page as the original Beamalarm site.  I just click on the "RV Technical Help" tab (above Barry's photo) and it takes me to the full listing of articles.  See my screen shot below:

Does your coach have any black anti skid on the roof near a ladder? If it does it will run much hotter and cause damage to the fiberglass under it. Remove it or at least paint it white. Does your coach have the rails around the sides. They are prone to leak. Insure they  are sealed or remove and reglass holes to prevent leaks.

I wash mine and put a good coat of Hard shell wax on it.. Helps against summer sun and seems like doesn't stain as bad from what ever may occasionaly land and sit on my roof ie bird crap.. occasional leaves in the fall and so on.. Makes me feel better anyway.. Mine stores inside so not a lot of trouble.

I get:
- Black mold
- Green algae
- Dirt

Actions:
1) Spray cheap Walmart Basics cleaner. Has chlorine.
2) Wait 10 seconds
3) Scrub with a cotton cloth
4) Repeat with clean cotton cloth

Makes roof look new. Kills organics and whitens gel coat.
