Fuel Tank Neck Boot

Howdy Everyone!
Does anyone have info on getting a replacement boot for our fuel tank fill spout?  One is broken and needs replacing.
Thanks in advance,
John & Carmen

What does this boot look like?

It's a CV joint boot for a car, cut in half (one boot will make 2).  You can probably match the size at any auto parts store.

We are currently on the road right now.  Will be stopping in Nashville for the night.  We will see if we can take a picture of the one that isn't broken in the morning.

Silly question  but why worry about it. It does nothing in my estimation except close an open area around fill pipe.

Agree with John above, does that boot do anything other than cover the gap where the pipe goes through the cover ?

If fuel overflowed it would keep it out of the tank area.

If your coach has the fiberglass tank covers it will keep the spilled fuel out of the tank area and direct out thru your drains. Clean up can be accomplished to prevent fuel from entering foam insulation below. Less smell. Also will prevent fumes going thru center section and into storage bay from spilled fuel. I had actually considered removing fiberglass covers till I understood how important they are to prevent fuel migrating under the tanks. Not saying the tanks couldn't be sealed off differently though.

I can understand your thoughts on spilled  diesel being held back so to say, but, you can think in reverse as well. Any leaks etc along tank would be hidden by panels, so as I continually check all bay bases for dirt, leaks etc I like to have those panels off, and they help dissipate heat a bit from hot fuel.
