Aqua Hot Unexpectedly Turns Off

My Aqua Hot diesel side has been  running since mid January with no issues . Lately I had some problems. At least twice a week the diesel side turns off but the electric side stays on. The green light on the dash is off and the switch is in the on position. I flip the switch off and then back on and it fires right off like nothing is wrong. I searched the service manual troubleshooting and couldn't find my problem.  Where should I start to look? I have the model AHE-100.

That is typical of a controler starting to fail. What color and material is yours.

As Chuck said, most likely controller.

I had similar problem when the coil on mine started going bad as well.

Alan,  The two most likey culprits when intermittant faulting happens are the Control Unit and the Ignition Coil.  The only way to know which it is, is to replace one and see if problem goes away.  If not, then replace the other one.

I am experiencing the exact same problem at the moment. Since I'll be in Denver for a couple of weeks in June I thought I'd try to get an appointment at the factory. But I'd love to hear more about this issue and any resolution from Big Al between now and then.

I talked to Rudy. Since I bought a control box from him last summer we figure it's the coil that is the problem.
