Trailer brake controller

I have a 7x12 box trailer that has electric brakes that I am considering pulling. This coach does not have an electric brake control box. Has anyone added one, my last MH had one but it was on it when I bought it.. my truck came with a plug you could wire to the box and just plug it in under the dash, I know that this isn't going to be that easy..  I just have a 6prong plug for my trailer lights and I think my truck has a 7 prong......  Has anyone added one?

Keith I changed my 6 pin plug to the 7 pin because everything else I own has that. I used several of the spare wires to add a brake power wire and a aux battery charging wire. Also hooked up the reverse light circuit for lights on trailer. I plan to run the controller at the dash with positive separation from retarder usage and only apply brakes with normal braking. Haven't purchase controller yet but all the wiring is done. 30 amp auto breaker added to aux battery circuit and haven't figured out what the brake controller will need. Probably will use a prodigy controller. Easy set up. Also I rolled the trailer plug mount forward for better clearance and oddly installed upside down to clear the engine compartment door on the coach. This allows the trailer plug to be installed and removed without opening compartment door. None of it is below the hitch now. Also had to add a tail light converter to run combined brake and turn signals on the trailer. Upgraded to a LED version to accommodate leds and conventional incandescent bulbs. Installed that near plug at hitch. Sorry no pictures but can get if you need.

I added an air pressure switch for the brake controller so the trailer bakes only comes on when I apply the brakes.

I put my controller under the tail lights , inside the engine compartment.  I only adjust it if I have one or 2 cars on the trailer.
With such a light trailer, you only need a little brake.

Without even asking again some one comes up with a easy fix for separation. That is a easy way to go. I was going to put in a little Bosch relay of of the pressure switch.

I installed mine at the dash. Also ran charge wire for toad, and trailer battery.I do adjust it, depending if I'm in traffic, or on highway.

I just used the extra wires at the dash lower left to rear already there.

Also cut out and added 7 round plug at back.

Unplugged relay in compartment under driver, so no brake lights with retarder, brake control, or cruise control.
