2002+ LED Docking Lights Replacement/Upgrade

I have been searching for a while for replacement LED docking lights for our 2004 U320. It was more challenging than first anticipated! I originally thought it would not be difficult to find given the popularity of LED lights for off-road use. Many of the options I would find were low/high beam or had non-removable brackets attached and I had trouble sourcing a true flood light that was a direct replacement for the rectangular Foretravel docking lights. I was also challenged with availability on some options due to COVID related supply chain issues.

After an exhaustive search combing through options from many manufacturers, I found a company in Oregon called Tiger Lights who distributes many kinds of LED lights for agricultural use. Several options included low/high beam lights as well as true flood lights in many different shapes and sizes. I figured I would give them a try.

The first ones I ordered were too large, and the return process was very easy. The second set I ordered were a perfect replacement for the OEM H9406 sealed beams. For comparison, the Grote 63610 that some others have used cost about the same amount but are rated at 700 lumens. The Tiger Lights TL9250 do not have the chrome bezel that are found on the Grote (the TL9250 is shaped very similar to the OEM H9406) and the TL9250 are rated at 3,000 lumens. The TL9250 is a cluster of eight LEDs while the Grote 63610 is a cluster of six LEDs.

I am not very handy and Nacogdoches Motorhome Service normally handles my upgrades, repairs, and maintenance. The original Tiger Lights that I was to have them install (but returned) were too large, which was an error on my part since I was the one providing the parts. I could not get the correct TL9250s to arrive in time for them to install them before NMS finished other items on my coach (slide bladder replacement among other things, UGH!). I went outside of my comfort zone and installed these myself. I was relieved at the simplicity of the install as they were basically the exact same dimensions and shape as the H9406s.

The output difference is amazing over the OEM docking lights! Lighting technology has come a long way since 2004. The color temperature is a tad too cool on the color spectrum for my tastes, but hey, they're just docking lights! That is my only observation that would be considered a negative, and it's a very very minor negative. They'll definitely get the job done and I am very pleased with the results. Hopefully this information will save another Foretravel owner a lot of time and effort in their research when it is time to upgrade or replace.

Par 36 is the right size so I believe those should work for the round style!  My previous U320 took the round style but I never upgraded them.  I ran across these also.  2,200 lumens vs 1,250 lumens on the ones you linked.  Might be worth a look!  I am pleased with the quality of their LEDs so far!

Frank (@Lt403) asked me to share an image of the installed lights while unilluminated.  Forgive the dirty coach... FINALLY getting a quote for a 30X50 cover next week!
