12V compressor staying on

I read that the relief valve at the bottom of the bowl should be closed when the compressor is running but mine is open enough that I can feel air blowing out.  I tried to knock it but no joy. I pulled the fuse to the compressor to stop it.
Anyone have the part number for it?

And yes, it's a normally-open (NO) solenoid valve that is supposed to close/seal when the aux compressor is running.  That pssssssssshewwwwwww you hear when the compressor stops is this valve opening to unload pressure.

Save the old one and rebuild it HWH Solenoid Valve Rebuild  One of Tom's plungers might be useful for this if it's the right size.

Also wanted to add that the poly condensation bowl is also prone to leaking.  Over time, cracks occur around the fitting where the solenoid valve attaches due to the thermal shock when the valve opens.

Parker P/N PS721P (HWH part number RAP90539). This is a 06L Poly Bowl with 1/8 Connector.  Last I priced it at FOT it was almost $300, but I wonder if Brad thought I meant the entire assembly with solenoid?  It should be around $60-70 based on my Google search just now.

I would like to confirm how the aux compressor should work. If have been sitting level long enough for the main tanks to empty.  If I try to raise my coach, I assume the aux compressor should come on. I tested and mine did not. Does it have a time delay?  I have no problem maintaining level but have never heard that compressor come on. I have a disconnected wire at the compressor but it appears to have been added at some time. I know the level system works because I have heard it dump air and surprise me, and I stay level.

As a stopgap, you can plug it with a 1/8" plug until you replace/rebuild the solenoid.  I ran mine the way for 6 months with no issue.  I'm in AZ, so no moisture in the bowl.  But, if you got some in there, you can just unscrew and empty it.

Dumping air means the system decided one corner/side was too high and it let air out of the bags.  No air needed from the aux compressor/tank for that operation.

Do you have a switch on your drivers left control panel marked AIR TANK?  If so, throw that switch and see if the pump runs.  This opens a solenoid that allows air from the aux air system to the main brake tanks.  When thrown, my pump runs continuously.  Does the pump run?

If you press one of the raise buttons, the system should try to fill bags with air from the aux tank.  When the pressure goes below the pressure switch low setting, the pump should come on.  A number of people have also found that the 40a resettable circuit breaker that powers the pump, as opened.  You may need to find your 12v distribution and verify the button is not popped out.

Tyson, the 40 amp resettable breaker is located behind the large white cover in the basement, tiny button on the breaker. My dump valve that Keith in Nac had replaced a year before started to leak last trip, I keep a 1/8" pipe plug on the floor just below the valve just for this, not the first time. I was able to disassemble and clean this valve. Works fine. Jim.

Thanks all, I was actually at Keith's but it was Sunday morning. I tried a screw to cap the output tube but the air leaked by it. Luckily I had been talking to Jared who works with Keith while he was there on Saturday and we exchanged numbers so I gave him a quick text and he came over and I got a new valve and bowl! I was able to leave on Sunday as scheduled happy days! What a team!!!

As a side  note I was there for a slide bladder replacement and two wheel seals they found leaking! I also got and normal filters and fluids so we are in great shape after that.

Additionally construction is underway for an office, waiting room, bathroom attached to his shop for future customers enjoyment! Go Keith!

I figured it out and my issue is operator error.  I discovered that if my level light is on. I have to turn off the leveling system and turn the ignition on before I can dump or raise. Apparently the system ignores the buttons I push when it is in the level mode.
