Silverleaf Fault Codes

I had a fault code pop up on the Silverleaf on the last leg of our trip through the Rockies.  I've seen this before when I was struggling with low oil pressure on the engine.  I can't find anything that tells me what the code means.  I called Silverleaf and they couldn't tell me either.

The active fault panel calls it "ID=483" but it is logged in the trip computer as "65000".

I had the transmission serviced last winter and Cummins did a full service as well.  Cummins spent a lot of time resolving a low oil pressure reading.  It may be related to that - but I didn't notice low oil pressure when the fault came on.  We were driving through curvy mountain roads and my eyes were more on the road than on the instruments.

Thanks for the advice.

You can download fault code documents for your engine here.  Odd file type, you might need Cummins Insight software.
INSITEā„¢ Fault Information System (FIS)

or here
Cummins Codes - Fault codes by engine model.

or look in the pdf files.

the only 483 code I find is this but the FMI is different and may nt be for your engine. Time t call Cummins.
code 483 (Yellow)
PID P129
FMI 3
SPN 1349
Injector Metering Rail #2 Pressure
Sensor Circuit - shorted high

This PID is not monitored in VMSpc as a gauge but will show up in diagnostic logs.

Roger, thanks ....

I need the Insite software to read the one file but the PDF was helpful.  As you noted, #483 is not listed.  I don't understand why the Silverleaf engine log shows 65000.  I'm wondering if the Silverleaf is setup properly now. We've only had this 2011 Nimbus since November.

This happened before when I was battling the low oil pressure.  Cummins couldn't do anything with the Silverleaf code.  They hooked their reader up to the engine and read the codes directly.

Its looking like I'll have to spend some time getting to understand Silverleaf better when we finish this trip.

Thanks again ... I couldn't find the Cummins code file anywhere.  Very helpful.
