Radiator time...
Noticed my radiator leaking last fall on a trip out west. Added the Bar's Leak as recommended and Ron (redtractor) torqued the side bolts. Unfortunately, it's still leaving its mark when I stop running....not overheating or anything, just leaving a little puddle. In any event, it's not going to get any better and for peace of mind, its time to fix this.
Ordered a new radiator (B-2358) from Larry at Atlas today. Current lead time 12 WEEKS!! Wow! ...and like everything, prices are higher - now $2910ea for the radiator only w/mounting carriage.
I thought about self-installing for about 30 seconds....then quickly came to my senses and called Bruce at Nachogdoches Motorhome Service (thanks Jor). Bruce gave me a very reasonable labor quote. I may even ask him to replace my muffler with a resonator while they are at it.
On a side note, I'm thinking about what else I might like to have done in Nachogdoches and was thinking it would be nice if we have a sticky somewhere of listed and recommended services....something that goes beyond FOT, MOT, Extreme and Nachogdoches Motorhome Service. Who out there cleans the carpeted ceilings, who does great cabinet work, who installs floors, etc. Resources besides the obvious I guess, it seems half the town somehow is tied to supporting Foretravel. For example, Joe Phebus recently put me on to Mitch at Infinity who does remodeling and upholstery. I was chatting with some Tiffin owners when I was at HWH last week and they seem to have a whole list of after hours moonlighters in Red Bay, AL to get pretty much anything done. Maybe this already exists and I just haven't seen it? Always appreciate the the collective knowledge of forum and all who contribute. Thank you!
