Engine Oil to use in Power Tech 8KWCAT genset
Probably a silly question.
The Current Heavy Duty Diesel oil specification is CK-4. The Power Tech CAT genset specifics 15W40 CE/CD oil. For years the newer specifications carried notices that they can be used with CE/CD engines. The more recent specifications do not specifically list compatibility with CE/CD engines. If you follow the tree of specs they all claim compatibility with the previous oil specifications going forward.
If you make that assumption then CK-4 is OK to use in my Cat Genset that requires CE/Cd oil. Anyone with experience know if this is true?
