To a degree, we are going to get into a "Chevy vs Ford" type of debate.

The engine manufacturer's brands (Caterpillar/Fleetguard for Cummins) are always quality.

NAPA Gold, Donaldson and Wix are also quality. In fuel filters, Racor is quality in addition to the engine manufacturer's filters.

Yes, Ford vs Chevy but check the difference in air cleaners between my Wix and Donaldson in an old post. You can't make much comparison between oil filter construction but in the air cleaner photos, there is a huge easily seen difference in quality of construction. Many layers of silicone gluing the filter material to the wire plus better reinforcements. The inside was also more HD in the Donaldson. Not really any more $$.

The filter on the right is an example of what happens when a U280/U300 sucks up water on a wet road and the engine vacuum collapses it. We were lucky, others have not been.
