'95 U240 Tires

I will be needing to replace the tires on the coach. Looking on the rig I have Yoyo 265/75R22.5's all around.
I noticed when I pulled into where U park, I left the wheels canted to the left and the Pass side is touching the vertical frame member.
The Manual calls for Michelin 9R22.5. Seems to indicate a 9" tread width and an 88 profile. These are wider than 9R (approx 10.5R) and as 75 profile perhaps as tall as the stock size.
Is the fact that this is a widebody coach mean I should be running wider tires?

Also, Load rating I have seen in searching the Archive, should be G or H?

I did a quick check on the ride height. Preliminarily looks like about 32.5" in the front (both) and right at 32" the rear.
in the front around 6 shims, but I'm not seeing ANY in the rear. Looks like I may need to get the rear bands done at some point.
Will taller tires in the rear help?
Also, I have not seen a consensus on replacing rear bands vs. adding air bag assists.

If the rear is at 32", I would do nothing.  Yes, if you do have shims, a mild suggestion to add to shims to the front so the ride height is 32/32 (2 shims per shim stack so would take 8). NOT critical.

Common upgrade from the 9R22.5 is the Michelin 255/80R22.5.  Been there, done that.

I just installed 9R 22.5 on my 36 ft GV. They run well on the 7.25 rims.  And were cheap.

Suspect the 1995 U240 like all earlier models has 6.75" rims. That limits "upsizing" to the Michelin only 255/80R22.5.

Yes, the 7.5" rim would allow for more choices.

How can I tell? Would I need to remove a wheel?

Size and PN will be stamped on the "deep side" of the wheel .-- so OUTBOARD on the rear and easy to read.

I have the 7.5" rims. With the 265/75 Toyo's the front right tire touches the frame member in a hard left turn.
So wider may be possible but needs lower profile to keep from touching. Generally wider but shorter is more stable there is a limit and as I can see these Toyo's are at it!

Ya, big difference between a 9R and a 265/75.

Two choices:

Reset cut angles (both mechanical stops and steering box relief plungers)

OR

Put on narrower tires.

I like changing the cut angles and stops :)
Also is there a consensus on TPMS systems. I put an aftermarket TPMS on my '07 Pontiac Solstice and loved it. The senders replaced the valve stems so could only be installed after breaking the bead and replacing the stems. It I'm going to need tires, it might be a good time to have that done. Also tow a Rav4 2door on a Tow dolly so might want a system that Can accommodate the dolly and Toad.

Most use after-market TPM systems that screw onto the valve stem.

TST and PressurePro are to common ones.  We had many years of good service with PressurePro.

IMHO, adding air bags is not a good idea.  There is a company making the rubber torsion bar bits and pieces, and if it needs to be done it should be done the right way.

I'm a cautious old soul, so I would have an account and funds set aside for torsion bar replacement.  Before we bought our U225 we were certain that replacements were available.

Good advice! And as I plan on having this for a long time, I am making inquires. At least I can concentrate on smaller issues repairs and upgrades :) Yesterday a call with Brett added a couple of smaller, but still needed issues:)
