AC gasket install
As part of my serious roof rehab, lots of cracks, I thought that while I'm up there I'll do the 34 year old AC gaskets. It took less than 30 minutes for that cycle, remove the old gasket and spacer, clean around the hole, stick on the new gasket and drop it back in place. No sweat.
It's the 1 +1/2 hours pulling all the parts just to get to the hold down bolts, after a cuppa and some digestive biscuits I'll go and put all the parts back. Thankfully I took lots of photos as I tore it down, these are old Coleman units with the heater element and they work just fine. Yes they thud on starting and a soft start would be nice but on a 34:year old unit, nah. I'd never seen metal AC shrouds until I got this coach always fiberglass or some kinda plastic ?
Oh, something that I have made note of, the cracks/splits in the roof are where the plywood roof panel seams are. It's a bit like when I worked on highway repairs, the surface problems are reflections of the sub-surface.
