Hooked up trailor now NO BRAKE OR DASH LIGHTS!

Hey everyone,
Went to hook up trailor last night and learned that the connection was outdated. I found the right connection material and put together an adapter.
I hit the lights last night and the dash lights immediately went out and no brake lights! I checked the fuses this morning and they are fine. IDEAS??

You fixed something?  Shame on you.

Seriously, look for the dashboard ground and check that out.

Check for power at the headlight and brake switches too, but the likely suspect is a bad ground.

I have headlight power just no tail lights (or rear marker lights) signal lights are good as brake lights. Just no dash or panel lights. :(

Disconnect trailer connection. Troubleshoot to ensure coach lighting woks first, then the following. Use Multimeter and check that power to connection matches the lights on coach. (Trailer connector on coach--- brake lights work and pin on connector shows 12V, clearance lights work and pin on connector shows 12V. and continue to all pins). Ensure trailer connector ground pin does not connect to any power connection from/to trailer.

Clearance lights don't work. I'll have to get a voltmeter and play around with it.

All lights go through your headlight switch. I would start there.

As a second thought, curious of what kinda trailer braking system if one is used. Is it air system or electric? If electric, is trailer braking power wiring compatible with coach wiring?
