New Realm Owners

Hi all, my husband and I (Eric & Stacey) just completed a deal on a used 2020 Realm, trading in our 15 AC Tradition.  We're very excited, planning to sell the house this fall and officially FT with our 2 Danes Malibu & Dakota, we've been nearly FT since Covid began. That said, it seems Foretravel info is more limited than I expected, I know its less production but where are all the owners hiding, haha! I am sure we will have questions as we learn the ins and out of this rig, looking forward to learning more from others here!  Also, If anyone knows of any Private FB groups let me know! ;D  We have at least a couple weeks until she is delivered which means extra time to absorb info!

Welcome! This is the best site and everyone is super helpful! I also belong to a FB group called Foretravel Owners Group and joined the Foretravel Motorcade club. Put 2020 Realm in the search engine at the top and see what pops up. I'm not sure how many newer ones are on here since we have a lovely 2002 🥰
Have fun it's a great group!

Thank you both, I will look for that group.  I just don't like posting on public fb groups when it comes to things like our RV's, don't want the whole world to know too much! LOL :))

Interesting that you just posted today. This morning I saw my first Realm actually on the road.

I don't do FB so I can't compare this site to that one, but there is a LOT of good information here.

Welcome to the Foretravel family.

Members and Information on  the ih45 and realms  is limited  on any forum that I have found  For some reason  the owners of the newer coaches  are on face book  I do not have Facebook  and there have been a number of times my wife will get me to help someone that is on Facebook but not this forum. I try to ask questions on my problems on this forum and most times don't get answers.  I post my answers when it gets figure out to hopefully help someone in the future when they have the problem

If you have a question post it  Good chance someone will point you in the right direction

Welcome and congrats on your new to you beauty!  This site is the best and help is always just a typed note away for the most part.  Most of the owners on here have older rigs, but most systems are the same.  I also am on farcebook, but have a love/hate relationship there!  lol  Many do use that site and I do monitor it to assist when I can.
Looking forward to hearing about your adventures!

Run your new Aqua Hot heater diesel burner once per month, every month, period.  Doing so keeps fresh diesle on the nozzel and it stone filter.  Sitting for weeks and months on end allows the diesel to congeal messing of the very fine mist spray pattern which leads to burner service sooner rather than later.

If you have other AH questions, ask them here or PM me.

Welcome to Foreforums!  We are glad to have another newer-coach owner here.  The Realm and IH-45 are produced at a much lower volume than ones in the past (about 1/10th the rate), so owners aren't hiding; they're just much lower in number.

Thank you both, I will look for that group.  I just don't like posting on public fb groups when it comes to things like our RV's, don't want the whole world to know too much! LOL :))

That and the purpose of FB is to harvest marketing data so they can sell targeted advertising....

While I do use it (mostly to watch for local classified ads, community news, and lost/found pet reports), I've found that because the search function there is useless, you'll find the same exact questions almost daily.  I've also seen a number of RV groups essentially reduced to being used as members' personal travelogues, shilling for Harvest Hosts, influencer videos, etc. because it fosters more of a "look at me; look what I did" environment rather than an information exchange one.

(and for those who I'm friends with on FB, I apologize for all the "look what I did" cooking, quilting, and dog photos  :D  O:)  )

As stated earlier in this thread, most posters here have older Foretravels.
Foretravel used to manufacture there own chassis. There were many similarities from one model/year to the next. With the introduction of the Realm, Foretravel switched to a Spartan chassis, then the IH was also eventually switched over the the Spartan chassis. The Realm was originally a model that was built exclusively for one Texas dealership and spected out to there specifications NOT Foretravels. Now, the IH has been discontinued and replaced with the Real Presidential. Also, the introduction of DEF required engines separated the older Foretravels from the "newer" models.
These two major changes separated the new from the old and made comparisons much more elusive, thus, few people here can relate to problems on the newer models.
I would think that any engine/chassis issues could be addressed by any RV equipped with the Spartan chassis, many motorhomes use this chassis system.

Enjoy your new Foretravel and WELCOME. I'm sure members here will help where they can.

Definitely some differences for sure.  I still believe they are great coaches (clearly LOL).  I hope some other newer owners join so we can talk those items. American Coach is very active and there of often things that only owners of your brand coach really know though experience but ALL input from experience can be helpful!😊

Thanks!!

Well we will be FT come the fall (we've been FT unofficially since 2020 so that should be an easy one to do!  This has the same aqua hot system we had which is nice (one less thing to learn)! I will note your name as things always happen as we all know 😊
Thank you!!!

I purchased a new to me 2018 Realm in June 2021 and have not found as much information about newer model year Foretravel on this forum. That said, I read the forum often and pick up much useful information about coach issues and Foretravel advice generally. Welcome.

She is being delivered within the next week or so and I already have questions and I am sure the hubs has more tech/system type questions on his mind. Coming from a 15 and a Freightliner to boot!

As you get the questions, ask away.  The answers may prompt more questions where you can better understand your coach. I know the frustration when you do not understand how to get something to work  or it will not work.

I'm grateful to those previous owners who were willing and able to buy new the things that I can only buy used, especially the fine people who forked over $350,000 or so in 1993 to order our coach. When you trade in your (5, 10, 20) year old coach on a new(er) one you may are trading in someone else's next coach. Please share your experiences here, ask your questions here, and generally contribute to the knowledge base. If I live long enough it is possible that someday I may be looking at an IH-45 or Realm. By that time there will be more of those coaches here than of our current U300, and it will be the few people who are trying to keep the "antiques" going that will be in the minority.

Again, thank you to those who are buying the newer coaches. You may be purchasing a future coach of mine.

A belated Welcome! to Foreforums

The more newer model year owners post here, ask questions, etc., the better the knowledgebase for these coaches grows.  There are far fewer of the newer coaches (due to production volumes), so there isn't as much existing info yet, but the more you post, the better the forum gets.  We can ALL learn from others' questions, projects, and observations.

Exactly! I am grateful to the man who had this coach for 16 months before upgrading to a Newell 🤩

I'm trying to patiently await her arrival on Monday!  I'll miss so much about our current coach but change is good and I know the safety built in this Foretravel will exceed our current coach!
