Too high and too low is bad, your voltage regulator may be bad.

You can let the smoke out of everything that is plugged in if voltage is to high.  Some items can take low voltage and not burn up.

Your board on the generator will need to be replaced.  Give John a call at Powertech in Leeville, FL.  Same thing happened to our generator and that was the fix.  John will be able to tell you what board you need for your particular generator.  Hope this helps!

Call Power Tech in Leesburg Florida they told me to adjust the voltage regulator to turn down the voltage to 121 volt by turning the adjusting screw to the left if it doesn't work it's the voltage regulator so I did it worked for about 10 minutes then it went back up to 148 Volts so I ordered a new voltage regulator $448.00 plus shipping ouch
After letting it stand for a hour I tried back the generator it been a hour now and working the best when regulator comes in will change not worth the chance of letting the smoke out of anything.

Almost for sure gen voltage regulator is failing and must be replaced. There are a lot of info on the forum on perils of doing it the wrong way and how easy it is to do. This is a very common wear point on generator. Just be careful, go slow and learn about your particular gen model. What works for one may not work for other models.

I have new regulator on other  and I've located old one it looks straight forward two hole down screws and one plug on the underneath is a very small screw to set the voltage and I have looked up on the form like you suggest  thanks Barry good advice
