Basement fan question

I have aquahot and know how the wet bay (water pipe/pump area) uses the tiny 0-50 deg thermostat to cycle the AH zone pump and the fan for that area. ( plan to do the Roger 3 wire fix )

However, I also have a fan in my main basment storage area (passenger side entrance, left hand side wall just above my AQ reserve tank), it points its air path/trunk down beside my basement slide out, to where unknown. This fan has one of its  power legs going through what appears to be a disk type clicks-on trigger device. I can only assume this trigger is supposed to allow current flow to the fan at a certain temp.

This past weekend while testing the wetbay setup using an ice pack, I attempted to do the same with the main slide bay unit. The slide bay unit does work, but never could get the disk to do its job.

What exactly is the purpose of this fan, and how does the round disk play into this? Is my clicks-on disk maybe bad, and if so does anyone know the temperature range of a replacement. Thanks.

1 Exhaust eat from the electronics (best guess) Just opposite of the function of the A/H in the service bay.
1a. It is a snap disk (bi-metal disc) Use a hair dryer to check it.
2. Refer to #1a. If the hair dryer don't turn on the fan then the disc may be bad. I need to hunt around for the heat range, some of those have been replaced with a real thermostat which seems more reliable. It could be that the fan has failed and need replacement.

It took a while but here is a link to the last ones I used to replace a failed snap disc. for one of those fans. Shop around as you may find a better price but these people are my go to place.

Exhausts heat from the invertor bay.  If you ever open up the cover, it is 110 volt, and powered by the invertor circuits.  Shore power off, gen off, invertor before opening cover (some can be adjusted for temp under the cover).  As stated above, use a hairdrier to heat and test it.

Okay, makes sense. Had my thinking backwards, designed to help keep the area cool vs warm. It does get warm in there, but even at 100+ this summer not hot enough to worry about. I guess if you're boondocking and heavily using your inverter maybe it gets lot hotter in there than I have witnessed. Will test with a hair dryer or heat gun as suggested. Thanks.

This thread got my attention as I don't have the fan and thermostat like the later models. After talking with Mike came up with the idea of putting one of the fans in my inverter bay. I will put a hole between the bay and the battery bay with a flush mount fan I purchased off Amazon along with a digital controller. Not only will it help cool the inverter bay it will also help keep my lithium batteries warm on cold nights.
