Scott,

When you do your install, please take pictures and give us a report on how it goes.  Inquiring minds want to know.

It is not hard to install MCD shades, it just takes time.  We did all of ours in a day.  And the DIY money you save will buy some other project like a residential refrigerator or solar panels or a new inverter.

Our installation is done.  Started on Thursday and finished up on Friday.  The hardest part was removing the shades, which were in excellent condition.  Removing most shades required disassembling of the valances.  Most of the original shades were installed first and the valances built over them leaving the screws holding the shades inaccessible.  I did spend more time on the disassembly than the MCD technician.  So my MCD labor to install was around $500, making my total cost just under $4000.  Since I had budgeted $5K for the project, I am well pleased.  The technician made plug and play harnesses for the windshield rocker switches as part of the shade manufacture, so time in coach was minimum.  We took a lot of pictures, and I will post them in an album soon.  Thanks for all the comments, I appreciate each and every one.  The path we took is not for everyone and that is what I like about this forum.  At this stage of our life, we still do a ton of DIY projects, however somethings we just prefer to have some help with.  This was one of them.
