leaky tolilet

My toilet leaks after the flush.
See picture attached.
It is leaking at the top of the black cylinder.
Is there a kit I can buy?  Has this happened to anyone?

I'm reading the manual.  It is called the vacuum breaker.  It says to lubricate the pad on the underside...
I will try that and let you know if that works.  Any other info would be appreciated.

It happens to many.  The top cap will snap off and the cylinder will unscrew from the base. There is a valve sort of thing inside. Usually these get crusty from mineral deposits.  Give all the parts a good soak in some vinegar, scrub with an old tooth brush, reassemble using a light coat of silicone plumber's grease. Lots cheaper than buying a new one and it usually works.

Ain't that the truth, they're stupid expensive. Report back if that doesn't work... there might be some spares floating around amongst the forum members

Rick I can honestly say I never had one problem with our electric toilet till the day we swapped it out with a new dometic 320. Pure electronic control to pure manual. Never sleep better since I changed it out. KISS. Good luck

Amen to that one!  Best thing I ever did to ours as well!  Dometic 320 is the bomb!
For extra parts, Chris Lang has some from mine I removed.  He should be able to fix you up if needed!

I installed the Thetford Aqua Magic.  Was a simple swap in/out, and have not had any issues since!

Electric toilet?!? Fancy. How does that work? Does it auto flush when a certain volume is in the bowl? Or??

Looks over engineered for me, I'll second the manual. GLW fix.

The flush handle is basically a 12 V switch that activates a flapper to dump the water out of the bowl, and a solenoid valve to add water back into it.

That seems a little over the top and definitely prone to failure.  Thanks for the explanation.

I'm trying to loosen the cylinder at the base.  It is really stuck on there.  I assume that I turn it counter clockwise.  Is that right?

Always reminds me of one of life's simple pleasures hearing swoosh with push of a button or the disappointment of not. Been around vacuum and grinders toilets way too long in my career.  Full manual is for me in my world "KISS"

Ah, but for the low price of $11.99 you could ask Alexa to flush a Microphor for you.

I cleaned it an applied some grease.  I tightened it as much as it would go.  It is leaking at the base of the cylinder where you tighten it.
I didn't have silicone so I used a spray grease.  So I will get the silicone.

Petroleum greases or lubes can negatively affect rubber parts, silicone grease will not.  Check to see if there is a nut underneath.

Mine leaked out the top when it flushed.

For just a few bucks more you can get four channels ($18.49)
4 Channel WiFi Momentary Inching Relay Self-Lock Switch Module,DIY WiFi...

Or one in a nice case for $21.90 with buttons you can push.

Mounted up front you can turn on the porch light and an inside light or turn them off.  You can lock or unlock the coach if you have lock actuators. "Alexa, we are home" unlocks the coach and turns on the porch light and the front inside lights.

Tired of looking for the key fob or trying to reach the door lock switch? "Alexa, lock the coach".

And it is easy to connect your toilet flush switch to turn on the water pump if it is not already on.
Toilet Flush Switch Interface to Water Pump

Almost anything you can think of that would improve the way you use your coach is possible.

I got the silicone. But as I was putting it back together I don't think I tightened  down the cylinder enough before I tightened the nut over it. Anyway whether it was the silicone or tightening cylinder more it's not leaking.

YEA! Put some paper towel underneath where it was leaking to see if it gets wet.  It is the universal plumbing test.
