Sewer hose

I noticed the sewer hose on our 1996 U295 is different than the one I had in my class C. Is there an adapter that can be used? Thank you!

I recently cut mine off and added a 3rd valve. Amazon.com: Valterra Twist-On Waste Valve, Mess-Free Waste Valve for RV's,... and this Amazon.com: Valterra T1029-2 Termination Adapter - 3" Bayonet x 3" Hub ,...

I cut the end of the stock one and glued the new flange on that accepts the normal bayonet Valterra type. For the valve, some mount this permanently but I take it on/off. When mobile, I remove the valve and put a cap on it. Besides being a safety net, it allows me to clean the black tank every every time I dump. Amazing how much solid crap stays in there. 2-3 extra rinses helps a lot. You can do this by having the 3rd valve closed, black tank open, then open the gray tank for 5 seconds. Close the gray and open the 3rd valve. Rinse and repeat.

That works for me also. Takes a little extra time but I feel good about it.

In my opinion, there is only one option for an RV sewer hose and that is the lippert waste Management system. Spend a few extra dollars. Cut the old bayonet fitting off and glue a new fitting on. Really be happy with what you now have because it's the best that there is.  Why is it so good you ask and why should I spend extra money on this? Because it's the best there is. And since we live on our tanks, we want a system that works well and will last longer.  Over the last year and a half I've seen so many different RVs and their their waste management. Hoses and none have been as far as I can tell. Anyway, as good as the lippert wastemaster.

I looked at that lippert system but would not work with the addition of the third valve. The bay door would have to be open to make it work. Also it is not heated which here in Canada is sorta a must

We call the end of the hose that attaches to the coach a camlock and it is an awesome
system. I just dump and put the hose away and same with the water hose so I don't
need much space. I remember reading that someone had bought a coach with the
camlock connectors and was going to change back and I wondered why go to an
inferior system.

I agree the cam lock system is the best and looked at the no freeze water hose and sewer hose brand but the water hose would only work  and not the sewer hose because of the third valve install.
Unfortunate....
I prefer to keep the hoses attached while parked

I would recommend Varterra with the 3rd valve plumbed in of course.    And ill tell you why.  The cam lock system is nice but ours got smashed while the coach was getting a bath and you'll find it very difficult to get a replacement at a RV park.  Lots of retailers carry the Valterra so there easy to replace.      Cam locks,, not so much.

My coach came with the Lippert when we purchased it. I have bought an adaptor to connect it to a Valterra and store it. You would have to modify to get a third valve in like Don did. On the road I use the red neck third valve to flush. I just lift the hose above the height of the tank after dumping the black, leave the black open then open the gray after a few seconds close the gray then repeat. The hose is not heavy when holding the liquid. To damage my camlock the door would have to be smashed and that would be a bigger problem than locating parts for me.

I'm not talking so much about damaging the cam lock joints them selves but the hose itself.  Once the hose is damaged , would you not have to replace the entire hose.    I guess you could buy ONLY a hose ( slinky ) and switch the cam lock ends to the new hose but usually a PITA.

The adaptor I carry lets me use any hose with a Valterra end and I carry both replacement ends and a boxed Rhino hose as I want to be covered if my camlock hose were to get damaged. The ends on it are not consumer serviceable. On another note I never leave the hose hooked up. When I am dumping is the only time my hose is out. Everyone has different uses we only hook up power if we are staying less than 5 days and 99 percent of our use is boon docking.

I do the same thing Chuck pretty much except for when I'm somewhere long-term like right now. And if I was in cold weather I definitely would not leave the hose out. I redid my wet day so I could push the hose up and inside and that's what I do. I still have some work to do to finish that thing, but in the meantime I open up the bay door. I pulled a hose out after cracking it a little bit because there's a vacuum in it when both ends are connected. That's how tight they are, then I bring them over to the sewer line and now I have four valves. Valves. One on the black tank, went on the gray tank, one at what you guys consider the third valve which is a hand operated one. The other two are electrical, and the final one is the one at the end of the lippert waste Management hose. The only thing I don't like about the system is there's no easy way to flush the hose at the end. Even with back flushing from the gray tank, You're going to have gray water in the hose at the end unless you flush your black tank and I don't like to do that too often cuz it drips onto the wet Bay floor .  I really should order not only the extension but an additional hose just in case. But so far I found this system to be quite robust.  I also use their system for holding it up off the ground, although I not quite as happy with that. But I didn't like the slinky one either. Either in fact just gave it away the other day along with all my older bayonet fitting attachments and hoses. After over a year the system has been exactly what I wanted in a waste management hose system.
