A/C idler assembly, M11

I need the bolt that goes thru the bearing. My mechanic messed it up getting it off. Don't seem to get able to find the bolt or a complete assembly. May need to make one?

Take the bolt to a fastenal store and see if they can match it,a picture would also help, any chance of having the "mechanic"fix
something he broke.

Can you post a picture and the wrench size of the bolt? I can't open my engine cover at this time without removing my Roadmaster towing setup.

The mechanic didn't give me the failed bolt. It's custom because it has a larger shoulder where the pulley rides, but smaller through the bracket.
Thx

Would that not be called a shoulder bolt? Fasten all should have them.

Maybe someone with the same engine will take a picture.

Is this what you're describing?

That's it. Need the bolt that goes thru the pully, or the whole thing

Take the mechanism in when you do,do you know if it's metric or not, looks like you could just use a bolt and a washer, and if the same guy puts it back together make sure he uses anti seize on the threads and uses a 6 point socket, while you have it apart I
would get a new bearing.

Bolt head uses a 7/8" socket. The shoulder is 11/16" and don't forget the washer

The bolt shoulder has to be a tight but not pressed fit to the inside of the bearing and the length of the shoulder has to be exact to align the pulley with the air compressor pulley. And as John said replace that bearing. The info from Richard should get you going.

Richard, could you try a 1/2" 13 nut on the bolt to verify the thread size and get the diameter of the shoulder? With that information and your previous info one could be made.

Another idea,go to a Napa type store or auto AC store for the bearing, they may have a bolt to go with the bearing.

Chuck, bolt threads are 7/16"X 20.
