Fleetguard LF14000NN

First time removing this oil filter from coach.
Is this rubber gasket meant to come off?
First time I see something like this.

I had previously purchased a NAPA lube filter I installed that had the "regular " fixed gasket.

That gasket goes with the filter,it just was not crimped to the filter good enough.

One thing to always check when removing the filter is to make sure the gasket did not stay on the engine.  Things don't go good when after changing the oil you see a trail as it goes down the road.

Looks like the Fleetguard is a better filter since it talks about 30 & 10 micron ratings.

I'll have to swap them out

I made this mistake once. Never again type of mistake. It is amazing how quickly you can dump a fresh oil change into your driveway when you have two orings! The worst part is that is was a brand new 5.4 motor I put into a f150. This was the 50 mile break in first oil change.  I was so worried it did damage at the time but 75k later it is still running great!

Scott,

Thank you for contacting Cummins.  The resolution to your inquiry, ISM oil filter, is as follows: You can use the LF14000NN or the LF14001NN which is the upgrade.

I have a 2001 ISM 450 in a Foretravel motorhome.
So I have read that the original filter Number has changed. Can I find out what is the preferred filter to run.
Thank You Scott Davidson

They are kinda different on the LN14001NN. Seal seams loose and both pushed flat and fits inside filter and around the flange when installing. I doubt you could physically install two. I too had removed a Napa filter and seals are completely different . Napa was a square oring Big and the other was a L shaped seal ring

Couldn't find stats on the LF14001NN just this.
I imagine the micron rating is the same.
