Back flow valve

So my back flow valve is leaking,any thoughts on how to approach this.
Do I need to take the fiberglass cover off or has someone done it different .

Cover has to come off but isn't hard. Once off you can replace valve if that's what's leaking or you may just have old dried out rubber seals in the fittings leaking.

Thanks Larry , I have replaced the gasket but it leaking from above.

When you pull that cover off you will see everything clear. Just did one on a GV.

Did the one u did have a spigot on the cover and how did u remove it.

Andy,

On your coach you may have enough piping to just remove the 2 Phillips head screws and then pull down the fitting. This will depend on how they (factory) routed the water line and the power cable in relation to each other.  If lucky you can get to the fitting and be able to unscrew it then install a new back flow preventer. The tapered washer will need to be replaced which is going to be a pain to get out of the swivel fitting.    As a temp fix you could install a garden hose shut off valve right on the hose fitting then manually close it after you fill.

There is flexible pex lines in behind there .once you pull the philips screws out the whole assembly will come down where you can work on it. There's not a lot of room but enough. The flexible lines go into the fill fitting and the outside hose fitting. Once you get the screws out you will see what I'm talking about. Looks hard but isn't. Power and cable outlets  have slack in them.

As mentioned, it can be replaced sometimes without removing the panel.
But, on the back side of the valve, you might have one of two coach connections.  Either a male or female end fitting on the coach.  My 1998 U 295 had one, but Bill Chaplin's 1993 U300 had the other.  I had bought both types offered at the store, and it worked out for both of our coaches.
And no, I don't remember which each of us needed, been too long ago.
I also screw in a cap to prevent any back flow dripping, after I remove the fresh water hose.

Thanks guys, I got removed and as stated it's pretty easy, now my back flow preventer is not like the ones I saw at ace so looks like I will be looking for a RV store.
The one I removed is longer.

Looks like if you have enough slack in water line you may not need to remove  the cover.

Andy,  I removed the back flow thing.  And replaced a fitting or two with shark bite fittings.    I didn't want anything with garden hose washers behind that panel.  Hard telling when someone else had to replace that washer and I didn't know it was leaking until I saw water dripping out of the bottom of coach.  THATS not going to happen again.  I now have a separate back flow combo pressure regulator on the inbound hose where I can see it, adjust it and replace it much easier.
