The green is gone

When we got our Foretravel there was a LOT of dark green. The headboard, the bedspread, the bed skirt, the valances, and all of the curtains were dark green. Over the past few years we've slowly replaced the old curtains with new, lighter ones. All of the windows got MCD shades, and Jo Ann made new valances and a new windshield curtain. The last bit of the old dark green was the headboard. Today we installed the new headboard.

For those who would like to do so, it isn't a very difficult project. Slide the mattress back some and there are three buttons that cover the screws. Pop the covers off and remove the screws. Then the headboard just slides up and off of the brackets. The old headboard had some fancy curves, but we chose to keep it simple. A piece of 3/8" cheap plywood is the base for the headboard. Some 1" foam rubber builds it out, and then cover with whatever fabric you like.

I used almost half a box of 1/4" staples attaching the foam and then the material. Pretty cheap project (depending on the material you choose).
