Mystery pieces/parts

We have been in our motorhome for the past month and every day or so keep finding these parts on our floor. Several have been in the bedroom in front of our drawers. Others have been found in the kitchen, also in front of our drawers. Only three are intact. I thought they might be coming from the slider on the sides of the drawers, but can see nothing wrong or missing. All are under AC vents. But that does not make sense. See attached photo. Anyone have any idea what they are?

Thanks

Bob

Those are the parts to latches used to keep doors and drawers closed.

I suspected a drawer part and have looked under the drawers. I do not see anything wrong/out-of-place. They all slide smoothly and lock. . What part of the drawer should I look?

Rudy is correct I am sure and the pieces come from the inside of those black plastic latches at the top inside door frame and mating part on doors. I think there are some at the rear of some drawers too.

If they are located at the rear of some drawers, and Bob found them on the floor in front of the drawer, then how did they get there?

Bob;  they are coming from the hinge area on your doors.  It is the mechanism that holds the doors open.  I purchased new ones at HD.  You need to bring one with you, that is the whole hinge assembly to verify the match.  As I found out, there are many that look like, but only one works!  Been there, done that!  Hope this helps!

Joe,

Any chance you can find the item you purchased on the Home Depot website?  I'm looking around there, but no luck.

So the pieces of black material shown in the first post photo come from inside the hinge?

See attached pic.  As mentioned above. That is where the pieces are coming from. Our cat has passed and have seen no signs of critters. The drawers still glide nicely. We have these drawers everywhere. Same for the pieces/parts!

Chuck, the best bet is to head down there with one of those hinges.  You will have to place it side by side with a new one to tell the difference!  Don't ask me how I know!  I purchased a pack of 10 or so and am replacing them as needed.  They will break from age and I found little pieces on my floor a few years ago and figured out where they were coming from after some searching.  When installed, you will see that the new hinges work great and keep those doors open like they should.  I also believe that Lowe's has them as well.  Good luck!

I seem to have mixed those bits up with the latches for doors as they are very similar in shape .  Sorry. I will go back to doing what I was doing, lol.

Those fit my cupboard doors. Found plastic on the floor and took awhile to figure where it was coming from. They do not look like the mystery pieces in the first post.

Those look like hinge parts to me.

I removed the under-drawer spring catches and added catches to the drawers. Most just have one catch, a couple big drawers have 2.  I replaced most of the drawer slides with self-closing slides as well.

Roger,
Where did you get those drawer catches? In our Roadtrek most of the OEM latches have broken and I have resorted to duct tape until I find something. Tammy is not happy...
