Maverick transfer switch appeared to have failed

Foretravel u320 42ft
Just parked at a RV park with good power (both legs 123 volt) and the power will not transfer to the coach.  No problem with transfer from the 12.5 kw generator.  One side of the transfer switch shows 123 volts the other side show none when plugged into the shore power post.  Any ideas???

Wait a minute before you blame the transfer switch.
What year is your coach?

Do you have a volt meter?
If so at the pole check and make sure on the 50 amp plug you have 240v between the phases and 120v between the ground and phase and 120v between the phase and neutral.  The ground is round, neutral is opposite of that and phases are on the left and right.

I am assuming you have volt meter.  Have you checked between ground and neutral with an ohm meter.  On some transfer switches it there is no continuity between the two, the transfer switch will not switch.

Do you have a cord reel? 
Is the power cord connected to the coach or do you have to connect it to a receptacle on the coach.  If twist lock receptacle are you sure you have it tight.

If you do or don't have a volt meter
Do you have a 30-50 dog bone?
Does the pole have a 30 amp receptacle?, if so plug the dog bone into the 30 amp power pole outlet and plug your coach into the 50a side.  Does  the coach now power up and both legs show 120V?

Do you have a cord reel? If so you may have a problem with the brushes to commutator rings not making good contact.

Yup, IF, repeat IF you are safe working around 240 VAC, with shore power disconnected, generator and AGS OFF and inverter OFF, remove the lid to the ATS.

Start by visually verifying that all wires are clean and not burned.

Then tighten all connections.

Reconnect shore power.

With your voltmeter, check for power IN and OUT of the ATS.

Black to white= 120 VAC
Red to white= 120 VAC
Black or red to green= 120 VAC

If on 50 amp black to red= 240 VAC
If on 30 amp black to red= 0 VAC
