HWH question

I don't even know If I have an issue, just have never seen HWHpanel do this. I pulled the coach out of the shop and hooked the tow up as I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow. My drive to the shop is pretty level but still I went to level the coach because fridge will be running on gas tonight. Air is built up, turn on the ignition and push air button twice. Both times I push it including the second every light on the panel lights up as in all the reds and all the yellows. As soon as I get off the button all the lights go out. Out of curiosity I checked the level of the coach with a carpenter level and it is perfectly level side to side and front to rear. I can't tell that the manual raise or dump buttons do anything. Is this thing just not responding because it's already level. If this is an issue it's my first with HWH but I knew one would be coming.

When that happened to ours it was the controller. Hope yours is not the case.

If you don't have a HWH reset switch on the panel to left of driver. Shut off engine. Turn salesman switch (12V) for 30 seconds, then turn back on. That is Edgar Derek from MOT had me do and it reboots HWH. In my case it cleared the problem.

I turned off the salesman switch but just for a second. Will do it again and leave it off a minute or 2

That didn't change anything Tim. I will see how it acts tomorrow after some driving, it goes in travel mode with no issue. Thanks

My coach has done the same thing. I removed the cable from the back of control panel with the key and salesman switch off. Reinstalled and it has been normal ever since.

Maybe that reboots it. I know I hope I don't have to call HWH, everyone has snail pace results with that call. If it's still doing this tomorrow after some miles and I figure it will, I will lift the panel and try the cable fix. I always new I missed my 3 lever leveling on my old 280, I've just been lucky with this HWH last 3 1/2 years.

Probably goes with what Craneman hoped it wasn't. Will probe around under the panel in the bay but it has power and I can hear a solenoid engage under the coach when I press the air button. May end up leveling with boards and bricks this trip. We all end up at least temporarily going back to old school.

When mine went bad I put a call in to HWH they said a tech would call me back and help me trouble shoot the problem. I packaged the box up and shipped it to them. I got a call from the tech 4 days after my box got there. He confirmed it was bad by my assessment of what had been happening. A week later I had the rebuilt box and all has been well since. Around 2018 I believe.

Suppose they are my next call. It's the only thing ran by computer on this coach so I knew it was coming sooner or later. travel mode seems ok so coach can be used and that's good because I have a month long fishing camp starting in 2 weeks, using it this weekend as well as long as ride height and travel mode function.

When all the lights come on while pressing the air button there is a very small battery insignia that lights up. Don't suppose there could be a ground problem in the bay box? Release button all lights go out except travel mode.

Have you tried manually putting it out of level and letting it correct itself in auto level?

Dub,
I am have a similar problem. Mine works fine as long as the key is on but as soon as the key turns off so does the panel. Have found if I hold down on the level button and then turn the key off it will continue to work until the key is turned on again. Have been talking to HWH for the last couple of weeks and have finally gotten an RGA number to return the control box. They are about as confused as I am.

Thanks and hope everything else goes well,

I read on the HWH site that the system worked with the key on but not necessarily the engine running. Mine has never worked either with the key off unless I have already levelled it and the key is off and the red level light remains dimly flashing.  Then the system will activate the compressor to keep the coach level.

Drove 30 miles stopped to check hook ups and it leveled spot on. Leveled ever since. No issue I suppose.

I just went through the exact same thing with mine. It was intermittent for a while and then stopped working. It will eventually need repaired by HWH I suppose. They replaced a bad relay, a capacitor and I believe a diode. The relay was obvious because of the overheated look. See picture. Its the relay in the middle of the picture. They were pretty quick about it too. You will need to send the control box and the touch pad for them to test. I had a new keypad membrane installed as well.

I operated mine several trips with no HWH control box. I was able to get the ride Height valves operating and the raise function when needed. When fully raised would operate back to ride height and coach would drop down and operate normally. Its not proper and your not going to do on the side of the road, but it can be done to get home.

Computer leveling was always inevitable but really not needed when I think of performance vs system failure. Shame the 3 lever leveling system wasn't left as a "lesser" option even though many would find it preferable so then they couldn't sell the new fangled system and pay to keep it in service. We work a lot of our own issues in my shop but HWH has us cornered. Happy camper today, hope happy tomorrow, may as well be.
