Surge protector

I inherited all the bills of work done by the PO which has been great to keep up with servicing and part numbers etc
I have a bill and a brochure saying we have a  Progressive Industries EMS-LCHW50 installed which actually saves me having to purchase a pedestal mount surge protector. The issue is I can not locate it on my coach. Any assistance in where this may be mounted would be appreciated!!!

Under the foot of the bed near the transfer switches?

It WILL be somewhere between shore power inlet and main 120 VAC breaker box.

Two schools of thought-- on shore power incoming before ATS (protects ATS and everything "downstream") OR between ATS and 120 VAC breaker box (protects main breaker box from either shore power or generator and everything "downstream").

Yes check first under the foot of the bed.  If not in the bay just forward of the wet bay (closer to where shore power comes in).  Yes, I have seen them in the wet bay, but hate to see electrical components there if if there is room in your coach.

Under bed, under thin piece of plywood. Look for a telephone plug and that would be your readout

When I was with a friend when we were at the Entregra factory waiting on his coach to be repaired they were giving a class on the electrical in their coaches so we decided to attend while we were waiting.

The guy talking was head of tech support for Entregra. First thing he said was to use a pedestal mount surge protector.  His reasoning (which I agree with) is if there is a surge or a major problem and it takes out the pedestal mounted surge protector you can then just unplug it without damaging the one in your coach.  It is way easer to replace the pedestal unit.

I believe the hardwired Progressive EMS units have an owner replaceable circuit board if a surge takes it out. You do not have to remove the unit if you have a problem....just the board.
