Driver's side panel removal

Is there a trick to getting the driver's side panel off? Just want to make sure I don't break a tab or something by trying to pry it off with a screwdriver. I want to get in there and see if I can replace a bulb or find out why a couple of the switches lights aren't working, and my passenger side power mirror stopped working so I'm going to start in here

On my '99 there is no trick to it.  I have had it up several times for various reasons.  Four screws then just pry it up.  It tends to stick to the vinyl and it is a tight fit otherwise.  So, be bold and go for it.

On the 01 the screws are hidden, just studs sticking through as best I can tell.  I have not had mine off but if you take off the HWH panel you can stick a hand in there.  The cover on the transmission control might pop off, never dome that either.  It is different on the 01 than earlier.

Yep, when I was trying to install a new switch for my entry step solenoid I couldn't figure out how to easily remove it and gave up before I broke it. Had the whole dash torn apart. Will be interested to know if you figure out the secret.

Don't the individual switches just pop out?
