Windshield Wiper R&R

This is a short info on how to remove your non working wiper motor and replace it. 
1.  First off, the handle coming in the front door will need to be removed.
2.  the front kick panel in front of the passenger seat will need to be removed and set aside.
4  you can then access the strip across the front that the kick panel slides up into.
5.  the cover over the steering wheel will need to be removed.  It is easier to remove the bottom screws on the hinges.
6.  in the center of the two vents, you have a small screw toward the glass that will need to be removed.
7.  both vertical covers that are against the side posts will need to be removed to allow you to remove the covering that is on the dash that is held on by velcro.
8.  remove the dash cover, very gently;  you will need to lift one side up to clear the window posts.
9.  in order to work on the wiper assembly, you will need to remove the sheetmetal pleneum that has 4 screws holding it down.  You will need a long square tip driver to access these.  Patience is the word on these and navigating the wire bundles that are next to it under the wood.  there is also a 2 inch vent hose that is attached and in order to access this, I cut a small hole in the plywood to make for easier access.  You will need to do this unless your hands are very small.
10.  Remove the 3 10mm bolts that are holding the old motor on and also the 1/2 inch nut that is securing the wiper arms to the motor.  It has splines and remember the position the arms are in when you remove the nut and brass colored metal arm that is secured to the two arms of the wipers themselves.  lay down and remove the motor once you unplug the electric plug.  the new one will go in the reverse.  It is doable, just take your time and be proud you saved dollars!

Tools needed:
1.  phillips screw driver on a battery drill
2.  square head driver
3.  jig saw
4.  1/2 inch open end
5.  10mm socket-  short one as there is not much room.
6.  wire snips
7.  long extension for square heads, 12 inch will work!
8.  patience
9.  couple of rags to clean up or vacuum

Yes, you can get this same motor on ebay, thank you Chris, but we do need to support our mother ship!
I overnighted this in, so costs vary!  Read expensive!!!!!
Hope the photos make sense and my read on this!

First photo shows the small phillips screw that needs to be removed as it is secured to the dash.
Second photo is of the front kick panel and handle already removed and you see the bar across that area that needs to come off as well.  I believe there are 5 or 6 long wood screws that hold this on and they are phillips as well.  The handle screws are square head.  In photo 3 is the new motor and photo 4 is the dash front driver cover removed.
5 is the post on either side that need to be removed as well to lift off front cover.  Photo 6 shows the plenum that will need to be removed to facilitate the motor removal and install.  6 & 7 show the hole I made to access the vent that is attached to the plenum.

I have heard that as well, however, it won't let me upload just one of the same ones it wouldn't let me upload before!

Update;  well, now the wipers work as they should, but now the wipers are parked in the center of the windows.  When you start the wipers again, it works, so not sure what I should do.  Almost afraid to move the wipers, as then they may either hit the center post or the outside mirrors and damage the gears on the motor.  Any ideas????

MOT replaced my wiper motor and assembly, before they quit they always parked nearly touching the center divide, with the new motor when you turn them off they go over to the center divide and back out about 8" from the center divide.
I preferred the old position, I do not know if it can be repositioned, I did bring it to a repair facility and they said they were as good as they would get them.
At least they work!

Don't assume this will work for your coach and order it before you remove the other motor.  My GV320 2000 model had a totally different motor for the windshield wiper with a different spline and different plug.

Got mine from Rome Truck Parts 706-295-4345 part #0 390 241 338 Bosch

Joe's has a flat 5 spade plug with a bolt and nut to attach to wiper arms while mine has a 3 over 3 spade plug with a longer spline to attach to wiper arms.  See picks below

New with no plug will have to remove old plug and soldier onto new motor

Looks like a heckuva job.  Question since you were in there...can you get to the washer sprayers that go through the front cap?  Mine are plugged and I don't see how to remove them or reinstall them.

Keith , yes you can get to the wiper spray (bolts) that go through the front
Tommy, I did the same thing when Joe replaced his and the motor I got would not work. Since I had the old one out I took it apart and cleaned all the old grease that was hard out and re lubed the gears. The motor seems to be working fine but I think either the pins or sockets on the arms are worn and there is a lot of slop in the wipers when they are working.  That is on my list to do!!!!

Tommy, that motor and electric hook up is much different than mine.  Hope you got er figured out!

Mine is a GV front end and there were no holes for access to anything.  I could see the wiper motor through the panel in front of passenger seat and was able to take a picture with my phone to get the #'s.  Had to cut a hole in the dash to access the bolts for the wiper motor like others I've read on here had to do.  Still a tight fit for your hand, patience is your friend.
