Bedroom Closet Slide Pins Locks

So I was to just going make a repair to the trim around the bedroom closet slide and seen how easy it is to remove the all the trim and decided to see how things work and inspect the slide mechanism (it's in very good shape) and to my surprise it's a fairly simple and ingenious design.

The thing that surprised me the most is I don't see any latching locks to hold the closet slide in place when in or out, what am I missing? I see people on the forum talking about the slide pin locks??

Thanks for learning. Mike

Different kind of slide  :))  They're referring to the coach's slide-out. It has pins that lock it in place.

So we most be talking about the 2002 model slide? On another note my bedroom closet slide will creep out when in storage after say a month of sitting, it looks like the only thing holding the slide in place is the hydraulic pressure on the system and bladder seal so my thinking is I have a very slight hydraulic system leak? Anyone with some thoughts?? When I deflate the bladder, to move the slide after it has creeped out it will make a popping sound like the bladder had a little load on it. Any thought's?

I can't speak to 02, but on 01 and prior, yes. 02 was a one-off year.

I don't know what's in your 03 but a leak like you suggest could probably be found with your nose

The hydraulic pressure holds the slide either open or closed. You probably have a bad hydraulic solenoid valve or else a leaking line.

Leaking ram internal seal also. I personally may be wrong in saying this but I wouldn't worry to much about that. I'm assuming that there is no bladder air pressure otherwise the bladder would hold in place also.

Take a look at this document. Our slide sometimes creeps out an inch or so also. I haven't looked into it yet.

I had an o6 coach with the hwh system. While it was sitting in my drive after it was pulled from my lean-to the bedroom slide fully extended itself. If a valve fails especially on coaches set up to have the ram extended to move the slide in when the valve fails the slide comes out. Not good to have happen especially if you're going down the road. I would address any out movement pretty quick before the valve decides to completely fail. Not hard to change but I did make a special spanner wrench to fit the valve. Not a lot of room just depends on location on the manifold.
