No water? Am I overlooking something simple?

I have water coming through the hose real with pressure. I have water from the pump/tank. I have no water inside while connected to the house water and the pump is off. I did not close anything I only disconnected and re connected the water. I just topped of the tank yesterday and it worked fine. Now it wont put water in the tank or run from the faucets? Any Ideas?

Do you have a manual or electric fill valve, to switch from using external water to filling the tank?  Do you have an automatic fill shutoff?

If the tank is full, perhaps the auto fill shutoff is stopping you from adding more.  Manually drain some of the fresh tank and try again.

It could be your solenoid fill solenoid has failed or it is not getting power or a pour
ground. I had the check valve fail and wouldn't let me fill my tank and that would
also stopped water from going to your taps from the city source.

Look for a failed back flow preventer that is between the hose reel and the piping to your water system. If this fails it will kill your city water side most of the time.

Mike, that sounds like it. Where is is located? Normally even when the tank is filling there is still water just low pressure. So a stuck check valve sounds right. Of course I am about to leave for a three week trip !

You can pick up a check valve almost anywhere. I got mine from Home Depot. It doesn't
take too long to change it.

Well now that is like hunting Easter eggs. 
On some coaches it is right at the hose reel .
You may have to remove the reel to get to it.
On some it is in the piping that is hid behind the fiberglass cover in your service bay
If you take top half of that vanity cover off(in the service bay) you can work on it, though hard it is doable.

It's right there next to the reel I've never seen such a short check valve look like a coupling. It was bad have it removed going to get a replacement now thanks for the help

That is great as that is the one that is the easiest to get to to replace. Our local Ace hardware store has them and you may even find them at a home improvement store.

I was always curious, if that Check Valve goes bad, does the water tank need to be empty to replace it?  I always assumed if you disconnected the Check Valve, any water in the tank would flow out?

In theory the fill valve will be closed and keep the tank from draining. The pump will also need to be off .But with some of the creative plumbing some have done those coaches could be questionable.

I changed mine and dont recall any siphoning water. I also added a pex shut off valve that normally remains open but is easy too close if needed. Since I was in there changed fittings to accept a standard potable water hose to facilitate changing on the road if needed

Thought about removing the check valve and using the shut off valve only. The benefit would be you could run water out of the fill hose to use as possibly needed. Just stick a double male hose adapter in the end and you have a built in garden hose.
