Keith, currently at home in Sun City West, AZ. Coach in covered storage facility a couple miles away.

Yes it is pipe thread. Brass is put into steel all the time.

Keith,

Is the leak on both the hot and cold side?
What/how are you holding a back up wench on the hot line?
You may just need to get to the back side of that panel so you can get a back up wrench in there so you can hold the fitting. It doesn't look like there is enough sticking out to get a wrench on  from the pics.

Mike, was leaking from both originally. Looks like I may have got the hot stopped. But I'm sure more will be revealed as I continue the quest. Was able to get a crescent on the cold female, but cannot hold the hot. Of course the cold female would want to back off during my multiple disassemble sessions. The hot female did not move. That's why I'm curious now as to what is inside the box... The hardest part of this whole thing is the access. Laying in the bay on my side and only reaching with one arm. I'm pretty persistent though...I will not let something so apparently simple win...

It's only simple when it's done! Congratulations on finding the location. Would a claw foot type wrench give you better access on the fitting? Also helpful to get a real good led light in there if you haven't already.

Hello all, latest update on the Oasis leakage. After getting it all apart, again, I ordered a 1/2 npt tap and carefully ran it and  cleaned up the threads as suggested here on the forum. They were very rough and I did manage to get deeper in than before.  Put it all back together with the new shark bite fittings and Monster Teflon tape ,as suggested by a plumber down the street from me ,pressured up and left all day at storage facility. Just went back and no noticeable leakage. Keeping my fingers crossed and in a couple days will be able to get it back to house and hook to city water for final check. Thanks to all who have participated in my minor, but frustrating, fiasco. You guys are great.

Congratulations. On the upside you now know a lot more about your coach water system and you have learned some new skills. You have become a more resilient owner for those times when it really helps to be able to fix something on the road. Enjoy the adventure!

Yes Peter, thanks for the suggestion of cleaning it up with a tap... I think that was the difference.
