1988 brake system

I have 1988 Gran villa and wondering if the brake system is driven by a pump on the engine to supply master cylinder with pressure on a hydraulic system.

What chassis do you have ?

It all depends on which chassis you have but if you have hydraulic brakes then probably is a hydra boost system which uses the power steering pump to supply the boost for the brakes.

In an area where you can roll in a straight line and coast to a stop, slacken the power steering belt and test the brakes.  High, hard pedal with little to no effect?  Hyda-boost off the power steering pump.

Crawl under the driver's side and look up at where the brake pedal comes thru the floor.
If there is a "cylinder" with electrical bayonet connectors then you have a "brake assist" like our '89 GV.

If its a  Gas front engine, you wont have air brakes.
