Removed the couch in the Grand Villa

So we decided we had enough with the old couch . So I took it out relocated the HWH control box and the sensor. The a big round boom box under there as well . We were able to find some of the same tile and it's on order should be here in a couple weeks. Pictures.

So, apparently you don't have a furnace under the couch Andy ?  Or was that what you meant by boom box ?

Yup the furnace is history, it was in good shape but when in az in the winter camp hosting we run on electric and was just tired of the noise and like the extra room . I did have to fill the hole where the furnace was and left the outside furnace door intacked.

Personally I would pull that trigger. DW not so much.    She says what if we have overnight guest. We would need that couch/bed for them.

We have been using the little buddy in the winter and find it way more efficient, quieter and even adds a little ambience.  The lr furnace is lately only used for quick heating but oh well.

I'm also still working the battle of loosing the barrel chair and replacing it with a cabinet.  I'd love to have a spot below for the buddy heater and a spot above for a mini split. With maybe a drawer in the middle.      I might actually win that one.
Just need to find the right craftsman.

Well Bob we considered that in our decision to remove  it but the only over nite guest we have had is my niece and grand niece and they have used it before and would rather sleep on the floor in there sleeping bags lol it was not a very comfortable . So now we have more room for them  ^.^d  and Eileen sitting on it looking sideways bothers neck . It was her idea 😁

The barrel chair was the first thing we got rid of. It was in need of some tlc, and with only four feet, it was a bit tippy while traveling. We bought an office-style rolling chair and like it a lot. Easily moved to the dining area if needed.

That's going to look darn nice. I have facing sofas that the PO had newly recovered with leather. They look nice enough but I would remove the one on the passenger side and put in a large recliner for me BUT if you could see the face my wife makes when I mention it you would understand why I don't. I've never had enough guest at one time to come close to fill available seating but it falls into that category of it is what it is. I can do what ever I want on the exterior but best do what I'm told inside. I suppose that's fair. I like what your doing.

I love my lil Buddy heater, it has never failed me. Works great. I've used it over the colder months along with an additional electric heater. I've considered dismantling my couch and putting in a sailboat woodstove. Not sure if that would be a good idea though.
EMT living in Missouri. Recently purchased 1987 Gran Villa 36 Ft. long,460 Ford engine with 40,000 miles on it, new tranny has 3000 miles on it, coach has 75000 miles on it, new 5000 watt genny new fridge, new tires. Am both excited and scared out of my wits at the size of this beast. Love it but need time to become accustomed to it's size.  I'm sure it will take time to experience all the secrets this RV has to offer. Any and all advice gratefully accepted.

We have a buddy heater, Eileen is a little concerned about the smell inside the bus.
Do u guys run off the big tank or use a smaller one out side the coach.?

Still working on convincing DW on removal of our jack knife sofa in the slide and installing a retractable tv and electric fireplace.  Not sure if this will ever happen, but not giving up as of yet!
Right now, I have mounted a 55 inch tv over the coach and miss having the extra window.  The new set up would be so much cleaner!

Andy, we use a small 5 gallon tank outside of coach.  I bought a 12' hose, set tank outside driver side window and put heater in Living room.  We don't have any real gas smell and Barb has very sensitive nose.  I can't smell anything

We run the little buddy off the big tank.
I started out using the little green tanks and refilling my own but that got to be a PITA so made a little change in the plumbing. The only snag that we run into was using the proper gas line hose.  The one that we are using is fine but it does very slowly leach a small amount of oil from the hose into the system.  No problem,, just have to use the little buddy filter on the line.  And I made sure to use approved quick connect fittings with gate valves in 2 places.  Future upgrade will be to replace hose with copper tube. I just wanted to use it for a season before running a permanent copper line.

An odd thing did happen last winter 2020/2021 when in Palm Springs we couldn't find the filters or green tanks ANYWHERE.  I mean no one had any.  Supply line shortage I suppose.

As far as a smell we always crack the little kitchen window and open the overhead vent a little. Doesn't smell up the coach and none of our detector's have ever went off.  Unless you count when Susie is cooking bacon.
