Audit 8t8 calibration

Finally got around to an RV park with full hookup and have attempted to recalibrate the tanks a few times.

So, shorting wire 12 to wire 13 brings up a wait message and then removing them brings up a done message. This allows the tanks to recalibrate to empty.

The problem comes when the tanks are filled to full and shorting 12 & 13 together. It ends up recalibrating the tanks to empty.

I have now attempted to recalibrate just the empty level  and leaving out the full calibration. Once fresh water is filled it is showing 7/8 full, but the gray and black appear to not be calibrated as our black tank is showing 3/4 full after one day.

Any experience with the 8t8 and this particular issue? I really don't want to have to get the seelevel quite yet as I'm having to buy all kinds of other things but need functioning sensors for boondocking.
