Microphor to Dometic My Take

Having the same coach as dsd, I followed Scott's thread on his change out that he posted Sept. 06, 2021. I knew that I had to get an offset flange, but when he described having to heat and bend the ABS pipe, I got concerned. I am a firm believer in " Murphy's Law", and put the remodel on "hold." Last month, I decided to give it  a "go", With Scott's support, I tried bending ABS pipe 1 1/4", in addition to using the offset flange. I failed three times. Pipe would blister and not get soft, even after heating it for an hour. I started to panic. Then, I thought I would try just using the offset, alone. If it didn't allow for the 11" Dometic said I needed, I was prepared to "inset" the cabinet that is behind the toilet. It would not be a big deal for me. I dry fitted the new flange, installed T bolts,and the toilet sat perfectly. The bolts measured 10 1/2" from the cabinet to the center of the bolts. I then had to rework the existing hole, which I had elongated, in order to secure the flange properly. I " cut in" new 3/8" wood. I then installed 1/4" underlayment for our new VCT ( tile) I will be installing. I beveled the end of the down pipe, used some plumbers grease, and it slid right in. I then, retested the fit of the new toilet. Fit perfectly.
Soooo......Sven, if you are reading this, I would say it wasn't exactly an easy job, but you may get away with using just the offset flange. There are metal beams that run both directions, very close to the spot you are trying to move to. I didn't have any issues with them. Feel free to contact me if you need any more info. So since I was in the area I snapped a picture of the down side of the installation looking up at the offset on my coach. Very nice job. Yours of course

Bummer.....
I wanted to add a sprayer to my new toilet
Didn't want to spend $100 on Dometic junk
Watched You Tube and a guy told me to install a bidet hose...under $25 on Amazon
Thought I could install it on toilet inlet
, but different size fitting
Now, I will tap into pex under sink
Then,
I can then use it to clean toilet and other "parts"

I could not find a way to tap into my 1/2" pex at the sink and feed into the female end of the supplied diverter. My plumber buddy says there isn't anything like that. I played the You Tube video again, and the guy OMITS the diverter and installs a Shark Bite "t" and a valve. I hoped I could use the one supplied, but now have to rethink it. Unless.....someone out there has a good idea?????

Glenn,  We have the exact bidet in our stick home and motorhome and they both work well.  Nothing like a perfectly clean bottom after all activities.

For the motorhome, we did not use diverter, but found to get good water pressure/flow, we connected the bidet to the main hose that flows from toilet pedal valve to back of toilet, but with a tee & partially-closed ball valve, allowed some water to flow to bowl input.

We use the bidet for every flush.

Walking the Lowes/Home Depot plumbing isles we feel we can find any fitting, but did use some barb/hose clamps.

Using toilet pedal valve eliminated as separate action to activate the bidet.

Here is the plumbing diagram for our toilet sprayer. . .

The back of our Sealand manual pedal toilet is a backflow preventer.  Pedal valve hose went to the backflow preventer  and a smaller hose went to our original hand sprayer so pressing pedal used to flow full water to toilet and reduced water to hand sprayer.

We caped off the reduced water hose that went to the original hand sprayer.

I may be one of the last people on this forum, if not the planet, who absolutely LOVE the styling, feel, fit and function of my Microphor, not to mention it's off grid water savings.  Haven't seen S&B heads built this solid.  Yeah they break and are hard to work on, but so are most parts of our 20-30 year old coaches.

Anyone tossing their Microphor, please, please PM me or at least list the moving components, except the porcelain throne, in the classifieds, so I can build up a spare parts bin to make my Microphor last longer than me.  Thank you.  Woody.

Just an update on installing my bidet sprayer.
I didn't want to have to press the pedal if I used Dometic's sprayer.
I ended up using Shark Bite "tee" and hose valve and tapped into bathroom sink faucet line
Not the prettiest thing I ever did, but it works GREAT!
