Engine temperature on a 1995 U300 with Cat 3176

Curious if anyone else has a Cat 3176 and what temperature it runs at.
We had a guy change the oil and check the coolant and he said Cats run hotter.
It is running about 210 which seems high.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Susan

Not sure about your specific engine but engines in general will run near the thermostat rating,if your cooling system is in good shape it could run cooler, does it run hot all the time, this topic was discussed a few days ago with many suggestions of things to do and check, read those posts and answer some of the questions.

You can either call Caterpillar Corp (877 777-3126) or go to any Caterpillar dealer with your engine serial number and they can tell you what thermostat (Cat calls them regulators) you need.  Cat recommends changing them every couple of years

If coolant change is coming due, that is a good time to change thermostat(s) as well.

We have the brother to your coach with Cat 3176B. Temps on a normal run (towing) will be 190, ambient being 85 or so...when climbing I keep the rpm's at 1600-1700 in the proper gear and temps never climb past 200. "check the coolant" ?? what did he do ???

What temp did the coach run at BEFORE the oil change?
If its higher after the person worked on the engine I would start my investigation right there.
