Front axle actual weight

So I've been contemplating building a trailer using a 1998 U320 front axle. Before I start collecting parts I was thinking someone may know the actual unsprung weight of the axle and support structure attached to it up to the air bag mounts.  May be too heavy affecting usable carrying capacity Tires and wheels can be calculated. Any input is appreciated

Scott I'm thinking that at 250# plus the weight of the axle another 250# or more, maybe the rear axle from a olds or caddy from the 60/70s.

Scott if you are going to the Q and still don't have an answer I can bring my 5,000 lb. scale I used on the crane. Hook one end to hoist, bucket etc. other to the rear end. My guess without tires and wheels about 750 lbs. Then bring it back to the Q in '24

I probably could calculate out the sub structure and take a decent guess at the mount hardware. Would be a problem if I have one in hand, just  trying to get a guesstimate weight.

Scott, do you have access to an axle? How about one of the rv salvage yards and find out shipping weight.

Been thinking about this trailer during the trip. I like the way our front axle assembly is laid out but dont want too loose caring capacity either because of its weight. There is that u320 in Arkansas and many more in the junkyards but if they are complete is unknown. I do know i want air brakes and suspension. Outboard air bags definitely are a way to go. Drop axle would be nice. Me and the owner of  the wedding event were talking and he mentioned that all the 53 foot trailers were frameless and very light which would make sense. Cutting one of them down to 20-26 feet may be a option. Would want to drop it down with drive on fender wells including upper bag mounts inside box. Loose the inside space but dropping down to a usable level is a must. May effect the design too much though?  Being frameless may work to my advantage?  Needing to stay under 10K GVW is hard to do for me loaded.
