Girard power patio awning not latching closed correctly

This is a new issue, and I have not researched it yet.

On the Girard  power patio awning (110 volt), it extends correctly.  Upon retract the front (front of coach awning edge) latches closed securely.  The back and middle are no longer latching closed, with the back approx 1"  from fully closed and latched.

I just noticed this, and we have not been using the awning here on the Oregon coast.  After noticing it I exttended and retracted it several times to see if it would resolve, unsuccessfully.

The arms of the awning keep it from flailing about, and I added a zip tie at far rear end for some temporary additional support.

In  search on the forum, I found a link Michelle posted to a Girard manual (atchd).

Any thoughts or advice for me to check if and when the rain ends?

Ours was doing this and it was caused by the awning fabric creasing slightly on one side when retracting. The crease happened  initially by auto retracting during a wind event. Any slight crease will cause one side to roll up slightly ahead of the other side. Just something to look at.  P.S.... We fixed by pushing up slightly on the fabric with a broom while retracting to tighten fabric. Did this a couple times and the crease went away. Hopefully it's something this easy. I do Think that there is also a tension adjustment available..

There is a tension adjustment at the front.  There is one set screw for the out limit and one for the in limit.  Mine would be tight at the front and just a little loose at the back.  Adjusted a little tighter on the in and no more problem.

Thanks for the replies. When we get a good weather day here on the Oregon coast I will try both.
