Mystery sensor connector

I was down working on something else and happened to brush against the wire plugged into this sensor, though it wasn't really plugged in when I reached for it it just fell apart.
Anyone know what the sensor is for? It's right below the exhaust manifold at the rear of the engine.

Could it be a block heater? I don't have a M11.

Was it a 120 volt wire? See if it goes to the electrical plug on the firewall.

Well tried to take it out and coolant came out so quickly screwed it back in. I did notice it was warm in the area...I had turned on my AH engine warmer just to see if it was working and there is a hose just to the left of this sensor that is warm. Is the 120v engine block heater next to the AH hose, kinda makes sense it might be but not sure how that all works.
....or is this just the coolant temp sensor?

If a 120 volt wire to an outlet inside engine compartment next to foot of bed, then definitely the block heater.

Looks like a temp sensor to me.  Looks much too small for block heater. If you run the coach and the temp gauge is not working you found the answer.

On reply 3 the third picture just shows your block heater on the left under the heater hose.
That looks like it is a sensor and on my M11 there is just a pipe plug. It must be some type
of temperature.

It's definitely a temp sensor, I tried to pull it out and coolant started pouring out so i screwed it back in. I guess I should call cummins and track down what sensor it is so I can order it. Is the coolant temp sensor that sends signal to the engine temp gauge at dash somewhere else on yours?

I think I have a couple and I haven't figured where they go. The ECM gets one.

For future reference, you can find Cummins parts books on Ebay, they come in handy to identify parts.

Go here and create an account:  Cummins QuickServe Online

Once you have an account, add your engine serial number to your account ( you can have 5 as an end user) and then you can do parts lookups by exploded views/diagrams on Cummins website with part numbers.

I did this earlier today, was able to see where the sensor is but it doesn't tell you what it's for. The wires on the sensor are labeled COL 1A 29289 and COL 1B 29289 but my wiring schematic for my coach doesn't have those listed. It was labeled Coolant temperature pickup port. There was also the sensor port labeled Coolant temperature sensor in the front of the engine.

Looks like a pT cruiser temp. Sensor connector . I use those for Microsquirt v installs  .
Might be a simple dodge sensor.

I did finally start her up, temp gauge was working so that sensor is for something else.

My temperature gauge on the dash doesn't read correctly and I never did find out where the
sensor is for it. As I have a Silverleaf it's not that important but I will try and find out where all
the signals come from sometime when it is warm and dry.
