Heat Pump comes on without warning

We've had the heat pump come on while running the back A/C. It'll climb into the high 70s before I know that there is a problem. Restarting the A/C fixes it. It is very rare, but it has happened three times in the past two years. This could be dangerous if it happens when the Bulldog is there and we aren't. Currently, I get a heat excursion warning on my phone app and can use my Micro-Air app to operate both A/C units , but it is still scary.

Q: Will disconnecting the Reversing Solenoid disable the heat pump? I thought that I read that the solenoid fails in the on position. If so, would a rare-earth magnet hold it the A/C only mode.
I don't care if the heat pump is disabled permanently.
