Onan Start Button Stuck

I just started my Onan (propane) from the start button on the generator for it's monthly exercise. After it cranked for a few second I let up on the start button and was going to wait a few seconds before cranking again but the engine continued to crank for another split second and the generator started.
The starter disengaged as it should but I am wondering why it didn't stop cranking when I let up on the start button and if this is a sign that I may soon need to replace the button, relay or solenoid.
Any thoughts?
The generator is currently running great and performing it's monthly exercise.

My generator (diesel) starts with just. a momentary push of the start button.  I hold it down to stop it.  I know because I occasionally press the button in error, especially the one above the head of the bed in the dark.
