HWH six pack

Has anyone experienced leveling issues after rebuilding a six pack? I rebuilt the six pack on the rear of my coach. Replacing the orings, plungers and springs. The new plungers did not match the ones I replaced. The supplier assured me that they are the correct replacement. These issues have arose since the rebuild. When parked after being in travel mode and turning the key off after about a hour the left side of the coach will begin to lower very slowly if I turn the key the coach will begin to return to travel height but I may have to the key off and back on again to return to the correct height. When parked and I switch to the automatic leveling mode the coach levels but once again the left side will begin to lower very slowly about a hour later but the leveling does not readjust until I switch to off and back to automatic leveling.  Coincidental, the new plungers or other issues? I believe the six pack valves are rap 1940's. Also I need a valve brass body new or used any have one they could part with? Pictures of the plungers attached. The old ones had a blue seal on both ends.

I think you have a leaking exhaust valve for the left side.  When Elliot gets done working on his coach and has time he will respond as to if I am right or not.

Assuming your bags haven't suddenly sprung a leak since rebuilding your sixpack, your issue here could be:
1) A leaking exhaust plunger like turbojack suggests or
2) A leaking travel-mode plunger in conjunction with a leaking ride height control valve
3) Any of the three solenoids on the left side of the sixpack if they aren't seated properly. Could be the o-ring got pinched, some dirt got in there, or you accidently stripped the manifold while screwing the solenoid back on.

Elliott, I should have said,  When he takes a break in working on his coach.

On  #3 I think the leak would show up if you sprayed kid bubbles on the manifold. If no bubbles, you then would know it was one of your solenoids internals leaking.  If the bubbles don't show up, I would start with the exhaust solenoid #1 above.  As long as you are not related to Elliott I think your odds of being #2 above are very, very slim.  But, stranger things have happen.

I had similar issues.  One one of the six, the thin nut at the top was tight, but the body was not tight to the manifold.  Bubble spray told the tale.

I cross threaded one of the bodies during assembly.  A half hour and a box cutter nicely restored the soft brass threads.

I've had a problem with leveling since I've owned the coach. When I got here at quartzsite I we built the front six pack but that did not fix the issue only slowed the leak. I need to rebuild the rear six pack and then start spraying and find out where my leak is.
After being on the phone with HWH tech support they told me to a fine leak and be check my auxiliary air compressor. It's been cold and windy here at q so I have not really wanted to get under the coach again until it warms up. When I rebuilt my six pack in the front I did it under the coach one solenoid at a time. I did not check for leaks afterwards. I remember when I got the last one on that I was freezing under there. Hopefully in the next few days it will warm up enough with the wind dying down to get under there and do the rear.
Yeah I agree with Elliot. The day of fixing and upgrading will never arrive.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have sprayed everything that relates to air with soap water on the rear suspension. No leaks were found. I did disassemble all the valves again looking for dirt and possible oring, plunger, spring or thread issues nothing found. I will inspect the exhaust valve closer. I will be replacing all the air bags as the chaffing at the top of the bags is getting to a level of concern.

Well you have a leak for sure. Why isn't the leveling system readjusting the coach?
Have you checked the fuses in the HWH controller ?

Rick, did you thoroughly spray soapy water on the entire air bags...top and bottom plates too?  Your mention of aged bags could mean that the bottom or top plates have leaks from corrosion.  Ask Elliott...that's where he found massive air bag leaks.

Yep, this is a great thing to be aware of. If the bag is leaking internally (which almost ALL of my old Good Year bags did), then it'll leak out of the bottom of the bag just above the metal plate. The only way to identify that leak on some was to put the coach into high-idle and then put it in "raise' mode, and THEN spray for bubbles once you hear the blow-off from the air dryer.

Rick,
Do you think both the front and rear on the left side are leaking down?
If the rear leaks down it can drag the front down a lot also. Look close when this happens and try to determine what's going on.
In any case if you swap the three valves on each (front and rear) manifolds from left to right and right to left to see if the problem moves over to the right. Then you would know if it is one of those valve requiring more valve swaps to track it down.
If the problem stays on the left it's a bag or pluming or check valve or even a problem with a manifold.
I would still check the HWH fuses. The auto leveling system should be trying to relevel the coach when your left side goes low.
Don't start fixing stuff until you know what is wrong.

I have just purchased the Amprobe ULD405  Ultra sonic leak detector.  I have only used one so far and impressed as to how quickly it found my air leaks. I am wondering if it will also detect an internal leak in  one of the HWH solenoid valve?
