Windshield wiper shafts

So I pulled the wiper arms off to facilitate window tinting windshields. Found the idler arm shafts dry of lubricant. They were last lubed when they were installed new probably. The idler shaft can be pushed in easily after the cir-clip  is removed. Will probably have to make a way to pressure inject into the drive arm shaft housing? Any ideas on type of lube and method would be appreciated. I would assume all these old coaches probably need to be lubed once. I would think the grease should be quite light weight and good low temperature operating, low speed water rated.  Hum sound like stinky green landing gear grease #33.

Scott, I have a can of old washing machine grease, landing gear grease is out of my league. Still have to look at the coach to see what you are referring to.

The arms attach to four shafts. Two are idler shafts and two are driven by wiper motor. Once the arms are removed there is a plastic cover over shafts. Pull off by hand exposing shafts. May end up making two bells to screw onto shafts then will be able to use a grease gun on the bells. Pump some in and then remove and clean excess/external grease off. Ignore excess inside.

On mine the idler shaft is stationary, idler arm spins on it. Will have a look under the cover for more info.

Scott when I was talking to the guy at BusParts.com he told me he uses a shell grease. I don't remember which one as I used a molly grease. His phone # is 800 960 1960. Yours is different
and mine and I greased the idler shafts when I had it apart.

Yes greasing the idler is possible but I haven't figured out the drive shaft. Both could be pressure lubed using a bell made to screw onto housing outside onto housing on top of the mount nut. That #33 is a aero shell. Will look into it

Think I'll stick with a dollar worth of grease, just being proactive in lubing the shafts. Everything works fine on my coach. Simple preventive maintenance.
