Probably a beat to death tire size subject

Howdy all. I have an opportunity to replace the 9 year old tires on Moby ('89 U280). The ones on it now are 275/70 or thereabouts, and the potential replacements are Michelin XRV 255/80. I'm a little worried about the michelin delamination reputation. Does anyone have advice on these?

Jay,

What was the OE tire size (from your GVWR plaque?

What size (width) wheels?

Also, from the GVWR plaque, what are front and rear GAWR's?

When I own that coach I had 295 /75 /22. 5 tires they were tight being a 96" wide coach but they worked okay. Top of the inside fender wells were trimmed to accommodate. Unless you can get a screaming and deal on the 255/80s  which would work ok being a bit smaller in height and width your Speedo would be off a couple MPH  @ 60, they will give you a bit more low-end torque though.
