Foretravel U300 GV 40ft Roof dimensions

Hi! I'm looking for the roof dimensions of my Foretravel U300 GV Unihome 1993. Think you would say, climb on it and measure...Yes, Inwould definitely do that, if I was near my RV. I'm in rhe Netherlands and would like to order solar panels so I can pick them up when I arrive on the 21st and install them while travelling.

Would be great if somebody has the measurements of the roof so I can calculate if there is enough free space.

I'll get out later today and measure our roof.  In the meantime, the post linked below is in a thread covering the installation of our panels on our 40' U280.  Just knowing the dimensions of the roof is not enough.  When installing panels, you have to work around the stuff on the roof.  How many panels you can use depends on size/shape of panels, how they fit into the available open areas, and how much "walk around" room you desire between panels.  The panels we used (8 years ago) were 58" x 26" and we elected to go with 6 panels to allow ample working/walking space between them.

The answer to your original question - my roof is 31' long by 7.5' wide.

Length does not include the sloped front cap area.

I measured the length from the seam where the front cap joins the roof, back to the seam where the rear cap joins the roof.

For the side-to-side I measured the "flat" part of the roof (does not include the curved edges).

90 inches wide gets you plenty of room to run 80 inch panels. If you don't want to have to play Tetris, put them above the vents and acs. These coaches are low so you don't generally need to worry about height restrictions.

I prefer to have them flat mounted, no need for 5kWh 😉

Understandable. There was a time when I could get away with 1000 watts. Way too many gadgets to play with these days.
