Mini LED Volt monitors

As mentioned, numerous times here on the forum, I plan to install a pair of small voltage meters to monitor my battery state. Is that something I can tap into under the dash or do I have to run wire to the batteries? Many thanks again for all the help that is offered here.

Many just plug them into the lighter receptacles on the dash. Look for a post by Pierce he puts pictures of it up all the time.

You should be able to find a source under the dash for both chassis and house battery power.  If you have two lighter sockets on your dash, they are usually each powered from a different battery bank.  If you don't have two lighter sockets, then you can use your 12 volt electrical schematic to determine where to tap into both battery circuits.  Put a load on one of the battery banks to draw it down so the voltage is different on the two banks.  Use your multimeter to poke around under the dash until you find the two different power sources you need.

I plug in two "cigarette " style plugs that each contain a digital volt read out and two usb ports. On my coach top one is house and bottom chassis. Very handy, takes longer to unbox them than install them.

Anytime one measures voltage on a circuit that supports devices, lights, etc, the voltage may be reduced from loads on the wire.

Better accuracy requires running a separate wire from battery to meter location.
