See Level install

I'm starting a new discussion, since the previous one is about 5 years old and got a little off topic.  Our to-do list has finally worked its way down to the See Level installation.  I spent the day yesterday trying to figure out which wires under the dash were the ones coming from the tanks.  It finally occurred to me that I could just run new ones up the side of the fridge next to the door (we have mid entry) to a spot for the monitor above the entry way cabinet, adjacent to the fridge.  This would be much simpler than going from the dash up the A post (next to windshield) to bottom of cabinets to the Prosine monitor panel where I originally planned to put the monitor.  I've got my ground and hot lead in that bay along with the tanks.  I will have to route the LPG wires around the entry stairs which would be the only complication, though minor.  I will continue to use the dash after market monitor for the rear view camera and compass which I like.  Any issues that I may have missed (Roger)?

You can do as you plan but if you could get to the dash you can use all the original wires at the tank and use 2 of them to the See Level. The wires that went to the old audit come from the tanks even the propane tank wires are there. I didn't have to run any new wires for the installation.

No issues. It's a very easy install, one of the easier things you'll probably ever do with your coach. I used a 300lb magnet to identify steel beams in the floor, and then just drilled right down to the wetbay from the bathroom closet.  I filled the hole with silicone after I pulled the wires through. I had a false floor in the closet that lifted up and exposed a bunch of other wires running through the floor in the closet. I ended up using the hot wire for the lp detector to power it.

I did mine the same as Chuck's and I installed my strips on the tanks the same as Bob did
with the fresh water strip on the bottom of the tank and the black and grey water I installed
the strips at the top of the tank and save a hole pile of money just using one strip per tank.
It has been working out great.

I need to do this also since my javelina has been on strike for about 2 months.
Still need to order the seelevel parts but will likely go with Bluetooth model and mount the display in the wet bay or in the  private toilet.

Maybe when I get back to the coach it will work again.

Check out my install thread over here:  SeeLevel Install

I used sheathed 18/4 wire to have power/ground and the two signal wires all in one.  You can tap into the system anywhere for the LPG sensor, so it's easy to just run 2 wires of the 4 and connect it all together.  I have one display in the wet bay and one above the microwave, next to the line voltage meters.

I agree.  , on the 2 monitors.  One in the wet bay and one in the coach.  In our case it's over the door with everything else.
That way you'll have all the tank strips that you need.  Because I would miss not knowing about the bottom 3rd of the tank.

This is what I did.  the monitor is in the same bay as the new on-demand water heater, as that water heater has a temp control pad located there as well and both can be accessed at the same time.  Though with the bluetooth function I don't really need to check the SeeLevel monitor much, if at all, as it's readily available on my phone.  Also the original Javelina/Audit system still functions.  The SeeLevel is far more accurate tho, as you know, which is why I added it.

I want to get away from the dash and put it closer to eye level at a more convenient location.  I already have four monitors (compass/rear camera, Silver Leaf, stereo, and TPMS) at the dash which is plenty.  New location is just above the tanks and easy to see.

I just put a piece of aluminum sheeting over the old audit hole so nothing was added to that area. The second monitor is right above the hose reel so it makes reading the tank fill easy. The compass is the only thing I lose as the See level gives me tanks and propane. The camera had already been moved to a lcd mounted on the dash above the old audit hole.

I finally finished the project, though I found it a little more challenging than expected.  I bought a sheathed 4/18 wire "set" from Lowe's at 49 cents a foot to run from the wall next to the door horizontally to the cabinet above the door then straight down next to the fridge into the cabinet where the water pump is located.  The green LPG wire went horizontally behind the stairs (mid entry), over the top of the cargo bay and into the Propane cabinet where I attached it to the original wires at the gauge.  I only need one monitor since I could see the fresh water tank while filling.  I bought the monitor and 4 sender strips separately, as it was cheaper.
My difficulty came with getting the monitor to cooperate (wrong voltage and would not read the LPG level).  Another problem I had was an open reading on the senders before narrowing down the problem to no continuity in the blue wire in my new Lowe's wire set. I fished an additional wire to take its place.  After several calls with a See Level tech with no resolution, he sent me a new monitor which fixed the problem.  Everything works now!  I have to give a huge thumbs up to See Level support!  Each time I called, I was connected immediately to a knowledgeable tech (Gabe Moreles).  I can't recommend them highly enough.
