Engine bay door brackets

Hi - new Foretravel owners here.  '07 Nimbus.  I was having trouble accessing my engine bay.  Once I finally got it to release, I notice that the passenger side bracket that releases the latch was only being held in place by 1 of the 4 bolts.  I stole one from the driver side to make it somewhat secure (and allow it to open mroe reliably), but now I have a question.

I'm not sure what type of screws I should use, and I'm unsure if I need to reinforce the holes prior to replacing them.  I want to make sure they don't back out again - it's a bit concerning that I've lost 3.  Any best practices here?

Stick a wooden match stick into the hole and then insert the screw.  Should tighten up fine a with the match stick to solve the striped threads in the hole.

I've used nylon cable ties similarly.

Perfect - makes sense.  I'll fix and keep an eye on them.
